Javier has been working on the development of Earth Observation uncertainty products and the calibration of optical sensors in space. This area of work spans from the design and performance of radiometers all the way down to atmosphere and surface reflectance products from different Earth Observation optical missions. He is currently an ESA Living Planet Fellow working on the development of uncertainty estimates associated to the surface reflectance products of the Sentinel 2 mission. He is also exploring the application of these uncertainty estimates in product benchmarking, retrieval processes and propagation to biophysical models.
